Check the 'port' that is always my issue when I have that error. I have two go daddy email accounts that I sync thru Live Mail and they are both secure, so if it is that situation go to your mail client and find out what port to use. For me incoming is 995 outgoing is 465. You find this area under the account->properties-> advanced

I have followed all of the steps listed above; run a repair, removed the account, etc.   I have Windows 7, have installed WLM 2012, etc.   WLM will work for a couple of days and then I start getting the same error.  I have checked and rechecked server numbers, etc.  Any recommendations?

Hi,

I suggest you to try logging in Windows Live Mail with a different account and check if you are able to login, and if the issue still persist, please try the steps provided below.

The application was unable to open the Windows Live Mail as it was unable to locate the database while using the program.

It is possible that the Windows Live Mail message store of your account is corrupted.  To resolve this issue, please delete the message store file of your account.

The default location for Windows Live Mail message store is:

%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail

Look for “Mail.MSMessageStore” file name and then delete it.

How do you solve this problem in Windows 10?

Cathy, this thread is not about the same problem as you said you were having in your own thread. Rachael was seeing Server response:  Unable to lock maildrop. Mailbox is locked by POP server. This is a common error usually caused by accessing the same account from a mobile device. Your server response was  -ERR [AUTH] (#MBR1212) Incorrect username or password.

Apart from the fact that you're most probably connecting to a different server (Rachael didn't say which hers was, but yours is inbound.att.net), there's a world of difference between the two errors even though they generate the same error codes in Windows Live Mail. You're using a secure connection; Rachael wasn't. A solution for one of the errors is not likely also to work for the other.

Please stick to your own thread instead of resurrecting ones started more than two years ago.
