Receiving error below when opening Windows Live Mail

I got the following error message when I opened my window live mail

Unable to send or receive messages for the Netvigator account. The e-mail server returned an error.

I just responded to your other post before seeing this one.

You cannot connect to an IMAP server using POP3. You must either

  • Change the server to and use port 110 without SSL or port 995 with SSL,
  • Set up the account again and this time specify Server type as IMAP on the second page of the Add your email accounts wizard. Then you can use port 143 without SSL or port 993 with SSL.

To change settings, right-click on the account name in the folder pane and select Properties. Make the necessary changes on the Servers and Advanced tabs. If you change the SSL settings, close down Windows Live Mail when you've done so, then wait a few minutes before re-launching and testing.

To set up a new account, press Ctrl-Shift-T to start the Add your email accounts wizard. You must select Manually configure server settings on the first page of the wizard.
