Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8004108D

I currently have Windows Live Mail.  I am unable to send or receive messages due to an error ID:: 0x8004108D

I attempted to work offline for awhile and now can't get back online either.

 

I have no idea what this means or what I need to do.

Please advise?

I know how important it is for you to be able to get your emails and deliver them as well. You can rest assured that I'll do my best to help.

 

For our initial troubleshooting step, please reconfigure your account in Windows Live Mail. Do this by removing then re-adding your account. It is possible that there is a problem with the settings that's why you encountered the error. Also check if there are emails stuck in Outbox , if there are, kindly delete them.

 

For instructions on how to modify your account in Windows Live Mail, please visit this link.

 

Note: Before removing an account, check that the messages you want saved are available when you sign in to the web version. If some of your messages are available only in the mail client, export your messages before removing the account.

 

In addition, if you're still unable to to get back online after reconfiguring your account, I've provided steps below on how you can re-establish the connection.

 

1. Make sure that your default browser is Internet Explorer.
2. Check your computer’s Internet Connection. Verify if Internet Explorer is offline.
a) Open Internet Explorer browser.
b) From the menu bar, click File. (If menu is not shown, press Alt button on your keyboard)
c) Uncheck Work offline by clicking on it.
d) From Windows Live Mail, click Send/Receive button. If you are being asked to go online, click Yes.

I do not understand what this means.  I only know I clicked offline one day and 'pouf' I cannot go back online.  I don't even remember what problem I was having that made me do that.  I cannot save what I do not understand you are talking about.  Save the messages that I have already catagorized and saved?  Save the ones I know will be coming in?  If I uninstall windows live then how do I reinstall it?  Please realize I am computer challenged.

Have you received an error message or error code?

 

Also, you can re-install Windows Live Mail by downloading it again. You can download it by clicking this link.

 

After reinstalling it, you can click on this link on how you can add your account in Windows Live Mail.

  • What issue do you have in Windows Live Mail? Do you receive any error message? If so, what is it?

Hello floresrox

Try unchecking the "Log with secure authentication" in your account logon properties. it worked for me when I was getting similar messages as described in this post. 

Appreciate if community gurus can throw more light on this aspect if I am not clear enough.
