Live Mail can't complete publishing photo album

Live mail keeps running.  However, when I send email with photo album, it progresses with message giving count of how many photos have been published.  It says that it has published all photos ( example, 11 of 11) except the green speedometer bar just stays at about 95% and never completes.

This is a new problem.  I have published photos in the past.

I have tried making photos smaller, or publishing less photos.  The result is always the same.

OS is Windows 7 Home Premium with service pack 1.  I believe system is current with all updates.

Windows live mail is Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3528.0331)

To get rid of the progress window, disconnect from the Internet and then remove the unsent message from the outbox. You can then click Stop in the send/receive progress window and dismiss it.

It looks as if photo email is broken, so until it's mended we'll have to resort either to good old-fashioned file attachment in Windows Live Mail or upload images to OneDrive and share from there by email.

There has been no reaction from support staff to the many reports about this failure.

This problem started occurring for me yesterday. The message is NOT in my outbox, so your fix cannot be carried out.

If you're seeing a stalled 'Publishing photo album...' progress window, then the message must be in your outbox. You might not be able to see it, and you won't be able to move it, while the program is working online. The Internet connection has to be broken to take the program offline.

I had a very similar problem which surfaced for the first time on Wednesday 6/24.  This was the first time this had ever happened despite using the photo album feature many times.  I spent more than an hour on 6/25 and here are the results.

What didn't work:

1) rebooting laptop; 2) closing WLM and rebooting; 3) disconnecting from internet (was unable to "work offline"); 4) deleting from Outbox (not only was there nothing in the outbox to delete, there wasn't even an outbox!); 5) trying to stop the loading from the stalled window; 6) going into Control Panel and using the fix problem feature under WLM uninstall; and 7) rebooting modem.

What worked:

I couldn't find a solution online either but combined some recommendations I found with some of my own shots in the dark.  Here's what I did somewhat at the same time: 1)  searched my C drive for all files with an .eml extension.  I then deleted the one (there were actually two) with the name of the email containing the suspect photo; 2) installed WLM 2012 (I had been running 2011); 3)  Deleted the suspect photo from my hard drive; and 4) rebooted the computer.

When it rebooted, the stuck window was gone and my queued up emails were dumped into my inbox.  Since then it has been working fine.

Good luck!

Every installation of every version of Windows Live Mail has an outbox - the program can't operate without it. You'll find it below the account folders in the folder pane:

The fault is in the link between OneDrive and Windows Live Mail, which must have been caused by changes at OneDrive since there have been no changes to Windows Live Mail for more than a year.

Thank you.  I have located Outbox and deleted said email.  I tried going down the route suggested in earlier email and attached each photo but when trying to send it automatically converted to One Drive so I was back to square one.  The problem must be with Onedrive as stated above.  Will try other resolutions when I get a chance have spent hours on this issue today.  Incidently it just occurred last night for the first time had no problems  in the past of this nature.

This is strange, how could this same thing happen to so many in the same day.  I sent 2 pictures with an attachment and my computer has been messed up since 6/25/15 around noon.  It still says "Publishing Album" and the green bar has been only half way since then!  Am getting so upset, as I am not computer savy!  There is nothing in my outbox to delete...HELP!  So, I have been trying to find the answer for "TOO LONG"!  Thanks

They broke something at OneDrive.

The method I used to stop the endless sending of the photo album was

- go to outbox and delete email

- reboot

- go back to outbox and delete email again

This method works, but it doesn't get the photo album sent.  I ended up sending each individual photo as an attachment by dragging it from the folder in Pictures to the email.  Due to the size of each photo, Iwas only able to attach one photo to an email.

A tedious workaround until Microsoft repairs the fix.
