Try out the following steps to resolve or isolate the issue further.
1. Uninstall Windows Live Essentials.
2. Delete the Windows Live folder if available from the following locations.
C:\Program Files -and- C:\Program Files\Common files
3. Restart the computer.
4. Disable firewall and anti-virus (enable them after installation)
5. Install Windows Live Essentials using the offline installer from
