Hi gordon5256,

Are you using Microsoft Outlook 2010 to send the emails? If yes, does the same issue when you send the emails with attachment using a web browser?

Please be informed that the message size limit is 25MB for Microsoft Hotmail and Outlook.com. Kindly verify the exact size of the email you are sending including any file that you have attached to it.

Thanks.

we use windows live mail. I've not started up the outlook program (though you do get it with the upgrade).

Large incoming emails >10Mb get bounced back to sender with the error message.

"552 #5.3.4 message size exceeds limit"

Regards

gordon

Hi,

This error message usually appears when a messages is too large or it exceeds the recipient's mailbox limit. If you are using a Microsoft account in your Windows Live Mail, I suggest you check the amount of space that you’ve used to make sure that you still have enough space to accommodate incoming emails. Kindly follow the steps below:
1. Sign in to your Hotmail account and go to Inbox.
2. Move your cursor over the Folders link in the left pane.
3. Click the Gear Icon that will appear.
4. Select Manage folders.

Free account initial storage limit is 5GB and 10GB for premium account. If you've exceeded the initial storage limit, please try to get rid of unnecessary email to free up some space from your account.

However, if you have configured a non-Microsoft account in your Mail, kindly contact your email provider and ask assistance from them on how you can check the amount of space you have used.

Thank you.
