How can I search for an email in my junk folder?

I would like to search my junk folder for emails I know are valid but can't seem to search it.  I'm
only allowed to search other folders.  Is this the case and if so, why?

To search your junk folder for emails, please follow the steps below:

 

1. Sign in to https://mail.live.com

2. Click on Junk folder.

3. On the upper-right corner of the screen, you will see a search bar which says "Search email".

4. Type the keyword or name of the sender on the search bar then click the magnifying glass located beside the search bar.

 

If the email or keyword that you have typed can't be find, you'll be prompted.

 

Or if you want you can use Arrange option so that you can easily look for your email, it is located just below the search bar.

But this does not search junk - it searches all the other folders not junk.

Hi twyfry,

You can actually search emails by folders just by clicking the drop-down arrow next to your search bar. Advanced search options will appear. At the Folder drop-down option the available searchable folders are: All foldersInboxSent, Drafts and the other folders you added manually, however, the Junk Mail folder is not included.

I've forwarded your feedback to our product group so that the feature to Search emails in Junk Mail folder will be added in the future releases. In the meantime, I suggest searching emails using All folders option.

No. With the current design of Hotmail the option to use the Advanced Search when searching emails specifically for your Junk folder in not yet available.

The worst part is that even when you search All Folders, it does not include the Junk mail folder. So there is no way to include this folder in any search.

There is also no way to search for emails in your Deleted folder. Searching in "All Folders" does not return results from the Deleted folder (or the Junk folder).  Very aggravating!

I understand how you feel about it. But as what my colleague says, by default, the Junk folder as well as Deleted folder is not part or included on the search function. However, rest assured that we forwarded this concern on our team.
