Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC15

I am using Windows 7 on both my work and home computer.  Suddenly, Windows Live stopped sending mail for me.  I can receive but I cannot send.  This (oddly enough) happened at different times.  Within weeks of starting the program at home, this happened.  I've been months of using it at work and today it stopped working.  Here's the error message:

A TCP/IP error occurred while trying to connect to the server.

Subject 'Re: Invoice Bearup'

Server: 'smtp.biltmoreevaluation.com'

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC15

Protocol: SMTP

Port: 25

Secure(SSL): No

Can anyone help?  Am I missing an upgrade that will fix this problem?  Please help. Thanks, John

Hi,

We're sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. Let me help you with the issue on being unable to send an e-mail through Windows Live Mail. I suggest that you reconfigure the account in Windows Live Mail. Kindly refer to the following links:

I am having the same problem but the solution suggested here has not fixed it.

Any other suggestions ?

What about a System Restore (or is the problem more likely to be embedded in Windows Live Mail ?)

Hi,

Welcome to Microsoft Community! I am glad to pay attention to your concern.

There are two possible reason for the above error.

1. Incorrect POP settings (usually the SSL option for SMTP) – Please check with provider if it is required or not.

2. Firewall blocking ports (usually port 25) – Please check your firewall settings

For us to provide you the solution appropriate to your issue, please post the complete error you received.

Your cooperation and prompt response on this matter is highly appreciated.

Thanks,

I am having the same problem

Are you also having trouble connecting to smtp.biltmoreevaluation.com on port 25? If not, yours is not the same problem. Each mail server has its own settings, and what works for one will not necessarily work for another.

Please use the Ask a question box to start your own thread. When you do, please post the error message in its entirety. There can be no troubleshooting without seeing the entire message.
