A windows help page states:
"You don't have to sign in with a Microsoft account to use Windows Live Mail, and you can add accounts and send and receive email without signing in."
I would appreciate knowing how to do this.
Many thanks,

iFiredog - Sorry, but your suggestion did not work for Windows Live Mail. Ever since I got a new e-mail address, it started asking me to log in. Never had to log in before. It will not even accept my password!
Anyone else have a solution to NOT having to log in to Windows Live Mail.
Thanks!

There is no log in in Windows Live Mail. There is Sign in:
which gives access to the account contacts list and calendar, and makes the photo email feature available. Then there's Log on:
which connects to a mail server to receive or send email.
Which of these forms are you seeing? And how have you reacted to it?

iFiredog,
I am being asked to "logon" when I open my Windows Live Mail. Below is the error message I get. I've tried to "logon", which I don't want to have to do (never did before until I got this new e-mail account). It won't accept my password, which I know I'm entering it right. Then when I cancel this logon, I get this error message.
"Unable to send or receive messages for the Optimum (diane.nardiello) account. The operation was canceled by the user.
Server: 'mail.optimum.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC17
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No"
Thanks for answering so quickly!
