How do I temporarily disable Windows Live Photo Gallery?

I'm trying to install Neat Desk.  I'm usinging Windows 7 and Live Photo Gallery window pops up automaticly and asks to import photos from disk. Have both imported and closed it, but can't go further to load disk.  I do use Photo Gallery, so don't want to delete it, just enable it temporarily, or find another solution.  I badly need Neat Desk for my New Year's resolution to end all paper clutter.  Thanks!!

Open wpg,

Click on the Blue file button on the top right,

Click on Options,

Import section,

Uncheck the appropriate boxes for Import.

Autoplay change it to Take no action.

Hi,

We are happy to assist you in getting rid of the pop-up window that asking to import photos from disk. It is possible that you set Photo Gallery to automatically import your photos and vide. You can disable that pop-up window by following the suggestion of Dissed. If you are not aware to do that, please follow these steps below:

1. Open Photo Gallery.

2. In the program window press these keys, ALT + F + O and click Import tab.

3. Under other options, clear the check box of Open Photo Gallery after importing files and delete files from device after importing.

To disable autoplay, please follow these steps:

1. Click Windows Start.

2. type AutoPlay and press Enter.

3. Locate Pictures then click the droplist down option and choose Take no action. Do this to Videos as well.

4. Click Save button.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Thank you.

Thank you both, Dissed and Leonard, for the info.  Your solution worked on removing the pop-up.  I must have another issue because I still can't load the program.  I have reloaded the disk several times, can hear/feel it run, then it just stops.  I was able to successfully load Neat Desk on my husband's laptop, and am supposed to be able to load on a second one.  Help - it's almost 9:30 am here and I'm starting on cup of coffee #3 already. :)   Thanks so much
