Cannot access Windows Automatic Update after fixing "generic host process for Win32" error

Running XP Media Center Edition, Version 2002, SP3

Had an issue with "Generic host process for Win32 has encountered a problem and has to close."  Followed instructions at this link:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931852

Seems to have cleared the error message.  So far so good.

However, now Windows Update does not work.  Windows Security Center said to go to Control Panel > System and use the Automatic Updates tab.  But, if I go to Control Panel > System, the Automatic Updates tab does not appear.

I also went to Control Panel > Services.  Tried to start the Automatic Updates service.  Got this error message: Could not start the Automatic Updates service on Local Computer.  Error 126: The specified module could not be found.

Please help me get Automatic Updates running again.  Thanks!
