What is Intel(R)PROset II?

i have this program on my computer I don' have any iformation on.  I'm curious as to what is about and how  it managed to install itelf.  It is Intelproset ii, but i have no knowlwdge as to it's ourpose. especially its Thanks

I just did a web search for "Intel(R)PROset II" and found lots of web pages that describe it.  For example, here's what the Dell support page named Using the PROSet II Utility says:

"The Intel® PROSet II configuration utility is a Windows application that allows you to configure, manage, and set up security encryption for your Intel® PRO/Wireless 5000 CardBus Adapter. This utility can be used to set up profiles and perform other wireless network management tasks."
