Question

Q: Setup can't create a System.mdw file.

I am trying to install Office 97 on a Windows XP Professional SP3 system. Everything seems to install until I get to Access and the following message comes up:

Setup couldn't create a SYSTEM.MDW file. After Setup is completed, reboot your computer, then run the Workgroup Administration  before you run this application (-1011).

After reboot, I run Workgroup Administration but it won't create the SYSTEM.MDW file. I tried copying this file from another system that is running XP Pro SP3. When I run Access then it quits saying "Out of Memory". When I click OK then another pop-up box comes up with "A system error occured, or there isn't enough memory to start Microsoft Access. Close uneeded programs and try again." I don't have any other programs open and this system has 3BG of ram. I really need to be able to run Access on this machine. Help
