How to uninstall Java 7 u 9

How to uninstall Java 7u9? My PC runs Windows XP. I have installed the following browsers: IE8, Google Chrome, Mozilla-Firefox. Issue is the following: my java program is corrupted. I downloaded java from java website to re-install it but when I tried I get an error message (installation incomplete). I tried to with an off-line installation: same result; I tried then to uninstall old program following standard procedures (setting - control panel uninstall) but I get a fatal error and I was not able to uninstall. I switched off and on again the PC and tried again to uninstall. Same result. I tried to uninstall with JavaRa (saved on my desktop): same result. I do not want to delete java files one by one manually because I am worried to generate even worse issues. How can I proceed? Pls answer in simple English because I am not an IT expert. Thanks a lot

Hi Longobardo,

Welcome to Microsoft Community!!

You are unable to uninstall Java 7 u 9, receiving fatal error. Don’t worry; we will give our best to help you.

I would appreciate if you could answer the following questions:

1.    What is the complete/ exact error message you receive?

2.    Are you able to uninstall other applications?

As the standard procedure of uninstalling application from control panel failed, let’s try to uninstall it from the fixit. Follow these methods and check if it fixes the issue.

Method 1: Run the this fixit

Fix problems with programs that can't be installed or uninstalled http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall

Method 2: Perform clean boot and try to uninstall.

Clean boot will help us identify if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.

To do this, follow steps from this link:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353

NOTE: After you check the functionality, follow the suggestions under steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state.

Download and install Oracle from this link:
