Error message: This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose 'Switch To' to activate the busy program and correct the problem

Original title: Server Busy

I get a Server Busy popup with the message: "This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy.  Choose 'Switch To' to activate the busy program and correct the problem".  There are two buttons" "Switch To" and "Retry".  Neither corrects the problem and I don't understand what they are talking about.

1. When exactly are you getting this message?

2. What application are you using when you get this message?

 

Method 1:

You may restart the computer and check if it helps.

 

Method 2:

You may try performing a clean boot. A clean boot helps to verify if any third party application services or startup item is causing this issue.

You may refer the following KB article to put the computer in clean boot:

If your issue is resolved after performing Clean Boot, then follow the steps mentioned in the above KB article to narrow down the exact source.

After you used the clean boot to resolve your problem, you can follow the steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.
