Question

Q: Error 105 and Setup.lid file This thread is locked from future replies

There are some questions on a problem with the Setup.lid file when installing various applications but I have this problem in a much more basic way.

I get the following error

"System Initialization Error

Setup is unable to find installation language in G:\Setup.lid file.

Error 105 "

This occurs when I first click on "This computer" and the select a network volume. The error occurs on two systems (both running XP SP3). One of the systems i brand new (just installed) and the second one has been up for several years (and the problem has never been seen before). There are six other computers on this network and on those the problem does not exist.

(The bypass is to use the Explorer instead but I don´t like to have sudden restrictions on my actions.)

All ideas on the reson for this problem and how to solv it are welcome.

Are any of the links under "Related Topics" (to the right) of use to you?

Similar errors are mentioned in these.

What exactly are you installing or trying to do that is generating this error?

Any problems with the file G:\Setup.lid  if you look at the Properties and the access permissions?

Did this solve your problem?

Sorry this didn't help.
