File setupdd.sys could not be loaded

My Windows XP Home installation became damaged and wouldn't boot.  I inserted the original installation CD and rebooted.  The PC booted from the CD.  It wasn't long before I got this error message:

File setupdd.sys could not be loaded.  The error code is 32768.

Is there anything I can do?
