Download Windows XP Mode

Hello,
I have an MSDN license which is where I downloaded the Virtual PC 2007 from.  I then downloaded the Windows XP Mode from here:  http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx.  When I run the Virtual PC 2007, it is asking for an activation key.  The Virtual PC 2007 does not require a license.  So, why am I being asked for an activation key?  Does the Windows XP Mode require a key?

The Virtual PC is running on Windows 7 Professional.

You will probably want to check with MSDN support about the request for a Product Key.

If you are running Windows 7 Professional, there is no need to install Virtual PC 2007.  Uninstall this software, then download and install Windows XP Mode.

I'm confused.  Why would I need to uninstall Virtual PC?  I need it, but in order to use it I needed to install an operating system, which is why I install the Windows XP Mode.  When I start Virtual PC 2007, its running the Virtual Machine Hard Drive Image (Windows XP Mode).  The activation key is for the Windows XP Mode, which is what I download from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx.

In order to properly install Windows XP Mode, follow the directions using the four steps: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx

*Especially steps three and four.  Step four states: Download and install this first: Windows XP Mode - Then download and install this second: Windows Virtual PC

Note: Windows Virtual PC is the successor to Virtual PC 2007.  You cannot install Windows XP Mode in Virtual PC 2007.
