can I install SQL server 2000 with xp

someone gave me a copy of SQL server 2000 standard can I install this to run withen windows xp ?

Welcome to Microsoft Community forums.

 

It looks like you need to know whether you could install SQL server 2000 standard  on Windows XP.

 


SQL Server 2000 has 4 editions:

 

 

Personal Edition

Developer Edition

Standard Edition

Enterprise Edition

 

 

Only Personal Edition And Developer Edition can install both Server and Client on Windows XP.

 

Standard Edition and Enterprise Edtion can only install Client version on Windows XP.

Why would you refer him to a Windows Server forum, which has nothing to do with his issue?
