'error installing iKernel.exe (0x10000)'.

I have been trying to install a new Norton Antivirus on my computer, but when I try to load from the disc, I get the following error message.

The error message is: 'error installing iKernel.exe (0x10000)'.

I have checked with Norton, and they say that this is not Norton related, but that it shows when files in the Windows/system32 folder are missing.

Hi,

1.       Do you have any security program or firewall installed on your computer?

Method 1: Try to set your computer in Clean Boot state and check if the same issue occurs.

By setting your system in clean boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.
