When logging into XP computer, getting 'Error Code:0x80040017 A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for this computer'

when my computer logging in, i receive a message "A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for this computer. Error Code:0x80040017"

Even though the Error code is different the description is the same for all of you. Please go here and make sure when you read it that it describes the problem your having.

You may also try to restore the OS to an earlier date before trying to do what the above link request you to do.

What I have found is that it is possible your hard drive is going bad. Please run check disk using the process. found here.
