HELP! Win XP - Adm User Account is gone .. How do I find? Working with a guest acct now with limited access.

Control Panel - User Accounts

My Administrator Account is now gone.   Signed off computer last night and computer shut down.    When computer came back up this morning, Administrator account was gone.   This account has all my pictures and documents on it.    I can not find any of these now.

I am only able to use a Guest Account now with limited capabilities.

Does anyone know how I can retrieve my Administrator User Account again?   PLEASE?!

Thank you!

Hi,

a)      What version of Windows XP is installed on your computer?

b)      Do you receive any error message or error code?

c)      Have you made any changes on the computer prior to the issue?

Follow the suggestions listed below for a possible fix:

Method 1: You may try to boot into ‘safe mode’ and try to login to the built-in administrator account. It will start Windows XP with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not run in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed, follow the steps to boot the computer in safe mode:

a. Restart the computer.

b. Start tapping F8 key.

c. You will get advanced boot option window.

d. Select the option “Safe mode”.

Method 2: If you are not able to boot to the desktop then you may enable the built-in administrator account from recovery console and check.
