Windows media player, wont burn. Error "connect a burner and restart the player"

Original title: Windows media player, wont burn.

When trying to burn a cd on windows media player it now comes up with connect a burner and restart the player,it has worked in the past but since the computer was upgraded it has stopped working.

1. What did you upgrade on your computer?
2. Do you have any third party CD DVD burning software like Roxio or Nero?
3. Which version of Windows Media Player is installed on your computer?
 
Method 1.
To fix the problem, do one or more of the following:
a. Clean the disc and verify that it is not damaged.
b. Select a slower recording (write) speed for the CD burner (recorder).
c. Try a different brand of blank discs.
d. Quit other programs – if you have too many applications open burning can fail.
e. Click start and type cmd.exe in the run.
   type regsvr32 wmp.dll in command prompt and Press Enter.

 
Method 2.
