The track names are missing on the disc after burning using Windows Media Player

Original title: Burning a CD with Media Player

When I burn a CD Tthe tracks are list as track 01, track 02 etc.

How can I get the actual track info on the disk?

Hi Gary55,

1. What is the version of Windows Media Player?

We recommend you to cross check if CD burn settings are correct in Windows Media Player.

Burning artist and title info to an audio CD is possible, this is a feature called CD-Text . Unfortunately, WMP doesn't support this. As a workaround, you could burn an MP3 data CD instead, this will keep all metadata, but such CDs won't be playable on most standalone CD players.

To burn an audio CD with CD-Text, you will have to use another burning application, like Nero/Roxio software, or the free Burrrn . Then, install the WMPCDText plug-in, this will allow WMP to read the CD-Text.

I have never had a problem with the artist's name and song title on my personal burned music cd's.... Not until the updated version of WMP.   All of my older Cd's when played in my car show who the artist is and the song name.  The above reply from Tim is not too helpful.

 Thank you

James: the only way to burn music CDs containing CD-Text with WMP was by using the Nero Fast CD-Burning Plug-in. That plug-in was only compatible with WMP 9 and has been abandoned by Nero a long time ago. If you really want CD-Text, you should use something else than WMP for burning your CDs.
