winlogon.exe application error instruction at 0x7c9012b0 referenced memory 0x01919000 memory could not be "read". choice of "ok" to terminate "cancel" to debug

I get an error message WinLogon generic control dialog: winlogon.exe application error. It gives me a choice to click "ok" to terminate or "cancel" to debug.  It does not matter if I choose ok or cancel, it will shut down and restart my computer.  When my computer is restarted it has a message that winlogon.exe encountered a problem and had to shut down.  Click here for more info. It has instruction at 0x7c9012b0 referenced memory 0x01919000 memory could not be "read" .  Furthur info is szAppName:winlogon.exe szAppVer:0.00.0 szModName:ntdll.dll szModVer:5.1.2600.6055 offset 000012b0  C:\DOCUME~1\owner\locals~1\Temp\WER727d.dir00\winlogon.exe.mdmp C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\Locals~1\Temp\WER727d.dir00\appcompat.txt   I have this problem about 3 times a day.  It doesn't matter if I just start my computer or if it has been running awhile.  Please tell me how to correct it.

Hi,

1. Did you make any changes to the computer recently?

Method 1 – Increase Virtual Memory
One reason you might be getting this error is if your virtual memory settings are very low.
a. You can right-click on My Computer, go to the Advanced tab, and click on Settings under Performance.
b. Then click on the Advanced tab again under Performance Options and click the Change button under Virtual memory. Increase the memory and then save the set value.

Method 2.
Also you may try unplugging and replugging the RAM sticks and check. You may want to seek assistance from your computer manufacturer on this. Check if the RAM stick is faulty.

Hope this helps.
