Hi,

 

· Were there any changes made on the computer prior to the issue?

 

1.     Run chkdsk /r on the drive and check if it helps. You may refer the link below for steps: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265

 

2.     Uninstall previous versions of java and install the latest versions and check if it helps. You may refer the links below for steps:

Download Java for Windows: http://www.java.com/en/download/inc/windows_new_ie.jsp
