How to Access Java in Windows XP

How do I access Java on my computer? When I go to control panel I can not find Java. I've never been able to find Java in the control panel on this computer by the way. I need to because I need to clear the Java Cache on my computer.

That still sounds a little wacky, but thanks to the MS Answers forums implementation we don't know anything about your system you could search your system for:

javacpl.cpl

and if/when you find it, copy it and paste the javacpl.cpl file nto the c:\windows\system32 folder so it will then show up in Control Panel.

After opening Control Panel, right click an empty area and choose to 'Sort by Name' and that will reorder thing alphabetically so you should then see it listed (sometimes twice is necessary).

As long as you're thinking about Java, you might think about uninstalling it, disabling it, or at the very least making certain that you have the latest version (or an old version: Java 7 update 11 is semi-fixed; Java 6 and earlier isn't subject to the latest exploit: http://www.us-cert.gov/cas/techalerts/TA13-010A.html)
