Q: Wireless Zero Configuration Error 1068: The dependency dervice failed to start. This thread is locked from future replies

I recently upgraded my network card from a TP-Link TL-WN353G to a DWA-552. Now every time I boot, I have to manually configure my wireless because the WZC service won't start. When I try to manually start the service, I get the above error message. I am running Windows XP MCE SP3.

Answer

A:

Try checking the dependencies.  Bring up the Services Window:

   Start -> Run -> "services.msc"

Then double-click on the Wireless Zero Configuration line.  When the Properties window opens, click on the "Dependencies" tab at the top.  Then verify that these dependencies are present and active.
