WIndows Live Mail Error 554 0x800CCC79

My dad just recently purchased a new laptop with Windows 7. He cannot send emails to anyone other than addresses on the same domain "telus.net" Error 554 Relay access denied. He can receive emails. I have spoken with the ISP & they logged in an verified that Live Mail is set up correctly. I searched on the internet for solutions & have tried a number of suggestions:

  • Deleting & recreating his email account 4 times. Still doesnt work
  • Checked & unchecked outgoing mail server requires authenitcation - doesnt work
  • Changing the outgoing mail port number - doesnt work
  • Disabling Norton - doesnt work

His incoming mail server is pop.telus.net

Outgoing mail server is smtp.telus.net

Outgoing mail server does not require authentication according to ISP

Outgoing mail port is 25

Incoming mail port is 110

The only other thing i have heard is that there may be a problem with Norton. I disabled it & it still didnt work but i havent uninstalled as I dont know if he has the original disc to reinstall if need be.

Any help would be appreciated
