Reinstalled Windows XP. Unable to connect to internet even after installing the drivers from HP CD.

Original title: Networking

I just reloaded windows xp to a Presario 6025rsh, now I am having problems with my network drivers.  I went to hp and found the driver, put it to cd and loaded on computer.  Still cannot get on the internet, could anyone please help.  Thanks

It's not clear what you mean by "loaded" the driver.  You need to do more than just copy the file from the CD to the computer; you need to install the driver.

How you do that depends on what type of file it is.  If it is an executable (exe) file, just double-click on it and the installer should run.  Other types of files require different steps.

Open Device Manager (Start > Run > devmgmt.msc > OK)
Expand the "network adapters" section by clicking on the + to its left
Does the entry for your network adapter show a warning icon?
When you right-click on your network adapter and select properties, what is shown for "Device status"?

BTW, if you "reloaded Windows" using a retail Windows install CD, you'll need to install more than just the network driver.  How did you go about reinstalling Windows?
