How can i manually add a USB printer port?

I have a new Brother printer
I have tried to install several times as per instructions and it fails
I have also tried the "add printer" which also fails

My tech guy at work tells me its because i dont have a USB printer port set up

When i plug in my printer, the computer recognises that there is something there, and knows the name of the printer, however it has a yellow question mark next to it

Any Suggestions??

Sucess at last!!!!!

I ran the HP installer and it came up with this error

So my tech guy copied the files from another computer as they were missing on mine ( i have no idea why?)

Restarted & the printer installed as it should
