Found New Hardware Wizard

I have a Western Digital external backup drive. I keep getting the Found new hardware wizard message every time I boot the system. The vendor says this means the operating system is not keeping the drivers for my device on record, they made a correct installation of the devices but the computer doesn't keep it, They suggest there might be a problem with the operating system. Can you help?

Hi,

Do you always have to re-install drivers for this device? Try removing the USB Drivers from device manager (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager => Under USB, remove the USB root hub), restart your pc, connect the drive, will install the drivers for it. Once installed, remove and reconnect to see if it resolves.

Hope this helps.
