dell laptop xp sp3 audio.when i uninstall then reinstall yellow queston mark device driver,my screen goes black when it reboots.i could fix when i rebooted in safe mode with system restore.that doesnt work i get blue screen.

Step 1:

Disable sound card in BIOS [Basic Input Output System] and then try booting.


Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can e solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.

Step 2:

Run the fixit tool mentioned in the below link and check if that can help diagnose the issue.
