On starting a game, i get an error "could not find any compatible direct3D devices".

i am not able to play a game "world of goo" on my desktop. it gives an error "could not find any compatible direct3D devices". im using windows xp sp3,intel pentium dual core processor, directx 9.0c,no graphics card.i also checked the dxdiag thing, doing the various direct tests but everything seems just fine.please someone help me start the game.

Do you have built-in graphics card installed on the computer?


Refer the following link to check if the graphics card built-in.



Update the display card drivers and check if you’re able to play the game.

a)    Click on ‘Start’, point to ‘Settings’, and then click ‘Control Panel’.

b)    Double-click ‘System’, click ‘Hardware’, and then click ‘Device Manager’.

c)    Click the PLUS SIGN to expand ‘Display Adapters’.

d)    Double-click the ‘video adapter driver’.

e)    On the ‘Driver’ tab click on ‘Update Driver’.
