lsass.exe is missing in Windows XP

When starting up Windows XP it complains that lsass.exe is missing - how can this be repaired ?

Hey MauriceLatham,

Here is a link to Microsoft Support Article that should be of great help to you. You will need your Microsoft XP boot disc for the official fix. 

If you do not have your Windows XP boot disc follow this link here and take a look at Joselbarra's post. At the bottom part of his post he provides a great alternative with links and a easy to follow guide.
