Not able to change screen resolution in Windows XP machine.

Original Title: Screen Display/Resolution.

Normally, to change the screen resolution, you simply drag the slider in the screen res. tab, right? but my problem is that I can't move the slider. It just won't move to the right even when it's at the farthest left. I'm using XP.. thanks in advance for your help.

Answer

Hi,

What is the make & model of your computer?

In order to diagnose the issue, you may check in device manager if there is any error message for display adapter.

As suggested by X102, you may download & install the latest display adapter drivers from the manufacturer’s website.

To do this, follow these steps:
                a. Type ‘devmgmt.msc’ in the start > run box, press Ok.
                b. In device manager, expand display adapter > right click on it > click Uninstall.
                c. Install the downloaded drivers.

Hope the information helps. Please post back and let us know.
