Question

Q: Windows Installer box keeps popping up.

Everytime I turn my computor on the windows installer box keeps popping up in the center of the screen.  I hit cancel in the box and it goes away and then immediately pops back up, doing this at least ten times before stopping.  Then, a couple of hours will go by and it will do it again.  I am not very computor savey and I don't know what this means, but it's very frustrating!  If I hit ok in the box, it tells me that the progrem is on some disk to please put disc in and push ok,  please help!!

Thank you Chris!!!!!!!
I did as you suggested and installed the clean up.  I found the programs that did not install properly, (Microsoft Silverlight (KB960353) and (Microsoft.net framework 3.5 Service pack 1 and .net framework 3.5 family update(K3960353).  Don't know what they are, but it said important on my automatic update.  These were tried to download 5 times and were unsuccesful.  So far the update window has not popped up! (Yea).  You are a life saver.
Thank You,
Groceryman

Hi Groceryman,

Thanks for using the Answers Forum.

I suggest using the Installer Cleanup Utility.
Here's an article about that:

Give that a try and let us know how this works out.
