Outlook Express Error: 0x800CC0F

Vista Outlook Express error message: 0x800CC0F    (will not receive email but will send email thru Outlook Express)
? think I may have marked a message as spam and  locked out my email address  from Outlook Express ?
(Can only get email thru cableone.net service provider general mail).  HELP!

Thanks for posting your question. 

 

If you have a third party firewall running; disable it.  Once you have it disabled try and connect to your mail server.  If it can connect we know that the third party firewall was to blame.  If not, we need to make sure that your computer doesn’t have a virus or malware that could be the cause.  I am providing a link to a post in our Security and Privacy Forum.  Read and follow the advice of the Microsoft MVP’s; I would suggest running all 3 scans.  Here is the link:

If the scans find anything they should be able to clean it for you.  Again, try Windows Mail and see if you can connect.  If not, let us know and we can help you through the repair installation of Vista.
