Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, . For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, see Back up the registry

Follow these steps:

a.     Click “Start”.

b.     Type “regedit.exe” in the Start search box and hit “Enter”.

c.     Navigate to the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control

d.     In the 'Registry Editor' dialog box, double-click on 'RegistrySizeLimit'. This opens the 'Edit DWORD Value' dialog box.

e.     In the 'Edit DWORD Value' dialog box, enter ffffffff as the 'Hexadecimal' value.

f.      Click on the 'Decimal' radio button, and enter 4294967295 as the 'Decimal' value.

g.     Click “OK.”

h.     Exit registry editor and restart your computer.

Step 2:

Run a System File Checker (SFC) scan on your computer and see if that fixes the issue.

SFC tool scans system files and replaces incorrect versions of the system files by using the correct versions.

See How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7
