Error 1722 -Dragon Naturally Speaking Professional 9.5

Hello,

I have been using the same install of Dragon N/S on the same laptop for a while. Previously it was fine, but then began generating errors....
I reinstalled Dragon - didn't work.

SO:
I reinstalled the image of my laptop (Dell XPS) from the pre-installed utility.

Now I can't install Dragon no matter what I do. I tried the fix (turning offf DEP as suggested by Dragon/Nuance) but it makes no difference...


Dell XPS / 4 GB RAM / Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit, serv. pack 2, completely updated)

Dragon Naturally Speaking Professional 9.5 - full install for Vista 32 bit

COMODO av/firewall/spyware etc (free version)

Hello hscowan,

Did you ever try the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility? I didn't see an answer to whether you have tried to see if it will help to clean up any
corrupt installations.

If the cleanup tool doesn't help, then the only other option would be contact Nuance, the vendor for Dragon Speaking Naturally. They do have support
for their product. I did see an article there about not being able to install on Windows Vista if it was an upgrade from Windows XP. Not sure if your installation
was an upgrade or not.

The other option I would try is to temporarily turn off User Account control and see if that will help to get it installed.
