I am unable to validate my Australian copy of Windows Vista.

Hi

when I try to download a file form Microsoft downloads for example form here

http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=22050

It says on the page "Validation required" so I click on the Continue button and go to the

validation site here

http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/handoff.aspx?id=22050&LegitCheckError=93

So I click on continue and am sent here

http://www.microsoft.com/australia/windows/

The MS Site, I do not get returned to the site where I can download the file,

this happens with whatever MS Update file I try to download on either my Vista 32 or

W7 64 PC's both with IE9 and fully legal and genuine software, activated as required.

Hope someone has an answer.

Thanks

Daniel

Answer
Answer

This has nothing to do with Internet Explorer.

==============

1. Download this diagnostic tool, saving it to your desktop, then right-click on the saved file & select Run as Administrator to run the utility: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=56062

2. After the run completes, click on the Continue button then click on the Copy (to clipboard) button.

Note: You may want to open a new Notepad file, paste the contents of your clipboard into it & save for future reference.

3. Begin your own, new thread in the appropriate Microsoft Genuine Advantage forum and paste the results from the MGA Diagnostic Tool into your post, along with a clear description of your problem:

   Win7 => http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindows7/threads

   Vista => http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinevista/threads

   Office => http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuineoffice/threads

4. A troubleshooting specialist will analyze the data and recommend an appropriate solution.
