Q: error 0x800703f0 returned from Vista SP1 upgrade This thread is locked from future replies

Any ideas, friends????  I've seen lots of references on Google but no real solutions.

Hi,

 

Follow the suggestions listed below for a possible fix:

 

Method 1: Check for the status of Windows module installer service and make sure that it’s set to Automatic then try installing Windows Vista Service Pack 1.

 

a.       Click Start, type services.msc in the Start search box and hit Enter.

b.      Locate the Windows module installer service.

c.       Now, right-click the Windows module installer service and select Properties.

d.      Under General tab, make sure the Startup type is set to Automatic.

 

Method 2: Run the following commands through command prompt and then try installing Windows Vista Service Pack 1.

 

Follow these steps:

 

a.       Click “Start”, type “cmd” in the Start search box and hit “Enter”.

b.      Right-click “cmd” and select “Run as administrator”.

c.       Type the following commands and press “Enter”:

 

regsvr32 wintrust.dll

regsvr32 rsaenh.dll

regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll

regsvr32 softpub.dll
