microsoft Security Essentials error 8004ff56 & 8004ff80
Looking for help on this issue on Vista Home edition 32 bit. I realize this error code is for XP, but it comes up when I try to uninstall Windows Security Essentials security software. I tried to install a recent update, and it gave me the code of 8004ff80
and would not allow me to install it, and it is causing microsoft update to not look for newer updates, apparently since the one it is recommending I install is causing this issue. All of this seems to be related because the update is for Security Essentials.
Tried to contact Microsoft, but they want $99.00 to fix. Looks like to me that this is a scam from Microsoft to create revenue at the community's expense.
