Error Code 800B0100 when trying to install Windows Updates KB974145 and KB978251

Greetings and salutations:

Any help would be appreciated.

I've tried to install these "important updates" several times with the same result - updates failed, error code 800B0100. I downloaded and installed tool KB974821 - tells me it installed - same problem. (I'm not sure if I'm supposed to do something else with KB974821 - do I have to "run" it or is just "installing" it enough? Instructions could certainly be clearer)

I tried downloading and installing the updates manually - no luck - I get varying error messages, such as "does not apply to your system" or "for a different hardware platform".

I tried all of the above with my firewall/antivirus shut down as well - using Trend Micro - and still no luck.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions, help? Very much appreciated. Thanks.

BTW I'm running VHP 64 with SP2 installed. Nothing should be this complicated or frustrating.

Additional information:

In another forum, where I originally posted this inquiry (I was told that the correct place to post it was here) I was advised as to how to get the results of the KB947821 tool which I ran.  (Why this information wasn't given with the instructions as to how to use the tool is beyond me). Here are the results of the scan, apparently:

So apparently errors have been found. What do they mean, and how to I correct them? Thank you!
