Error: 0x80073712 when installing Windows Service Pack 1 for Vista Home Premium 32 bit

My Dell laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium crashed a while back and Dell was not willing to help me with the reinstallation of the operating system. I did my best but since them am not able to install any service pack updates (32bit). Now, I recently tried installing a newer version of iTunes and am having this error: microsoft.vc80.crt,version="8.0.50727.4053",type="win32",publickeytoken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorarchitecture="x86"HRESULT:0x8007054F. What do I need to do to be able to finally successfully install Service Pack 1 & 2?
