Q: d0000144 unknown hard error This thread is locked from future replies

I have Windows Vista 32-bit edition on my computer and it won't load into windows the normal way or in safe mode. I tried to do a repair that was in the F8 menu but all I got was a blue screen with this message at the top left:

STOP: d0000144 Unknown Hard Error
Unknown Hard Error

What does this mean and how can I fix it? There's a wedding coming up and I'm suppose to be creating the programs. This is a nightmare that I can't wake up from. If anybody can help it will be much appreciated.

It is the Hard Drive that has failed or failing.

That is a Dell Hard Drive error.

You used the F12 diagnostics from Dell?

Replace the Hard Drive

Here is what to do from the Dell Forums from others with that same error code; replace the Hard Drive..

Here are the Dell results for that Search; a failed or failing Hard Drive.
