application not found error HELP

I recently had a virus on my Windows vista which I removed with comodo anti virus.  The virus was called "vista Antispyware 2010".  After I removed it with the comodo, I realized I could not access firefox direct by clicking on the icon; a window would open asking for me to choose the program I would like to use to open the firefox.exe .  I did figure out that if i right click the icon and choose "run as administrator", it will then work-but i have to do that every time i want to access the internet.

I soon noticed that clicking on other applications would result in an error message saying "Application Not Found".  I can not delete programs from my control panel because it is inaccessable,  I can not do a system recovery, or restore; the same messages will pop up. So basically, I can not make any changes to my desktop or access programs directly.  Please help.

To restore the ability to run .exe programs.

1. Make a Restore Point so you can revert back if needed though not likely required.
