Hi,

 

Step 1:

You may first check if the Volume Shadow Copy service is started and set to automatic.

To check the service

1.      Click on Start

2.      In the start Search box type Services

3.      Right Click on - RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR

Check if the below mentioned services has the mentioned status and start up type.

Volume Shadow Copy Service                   Started              Automatic

 

Also check the dependency services that are required for System Restore Service to run.

To check that double click on the service and click on the dependency tab.

 

Step 2:

You may configure your computer to clean boot state and check if any of the third party application is conflicting and causing the issue.To configure the computer in clean boot state, follow the link given below.

Note: After you have finished troubleshooting, follow step 7 in the article to boot to normal startup.
