Error Event ID: 10, Application: WMI

When running Access, Windows shuts down.  The Application Event Viewer shows an Event ID: 10, Source: WMI and Task Category: None.  I am running Windows Vista with SP 3 and all updates installed.  The following error message is received in the event viewer.

Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

I don't know how recently you installed SP1 (you are now on SP2 - there is no SP3), but this error occurs with installation of SP1.  Here's an article about the specific error message:

If you installed SP1 recently (or perhaps even if it wasn't recently) and the above article does not help resolve your problem, then please repost your question in the Windows update Forum at: where people who specialize in update issues will be more than happy to assist you with your problem.

You can also try posting your question in the Office Discussion Group at: where people who specialize in Access issues will be more than happy to assist you with your problem (which may be limited to that application and the error message may be one they are familiar with and can resolve).

I hope this helps and one or both of these groups are able to assist you.

Good luck!
