Callers claiming to have your computer's license id
I received a call from an eastern Indian sounding person from a "private" caller ID number claiming that my computer was sending them SSL certificates and that they wanted to check my security. They gave me a long number that they claimed was my PC security
ID and wanted me to turn my computer on and verify it, I wrote the number down then hung up on them. I then turned on my computer (and turned off the wifi internet) to see if they had the correct security ID which I couldn't find so I never verified it)
I am pretty sure this is a scam but am worried because they had a security ID number and I turned my computer on after the call (they also knew my last name when they called) should I be concerned about this or is it ok because I didn't give them any information?
